WEDDING & VOW RENEWAL

As a licensed officiant I will perform your legal and custom wedding ceremony at your chosen venue. From a formal marriage ceremony to an impromptu backyard wedding, the details are up to you.

FUNERAL & CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Honouring the life of your loved one in a personalized and respectful way at your chosen venue. From formal funeral services to unique and personalized celebrations of life, we work together to create your vision.

RE-NAMING CEREMONY

Embracing your new identity at a re-naming ceremony to celebrate the claiming of your identity at your chosen venue. This ceremony can take many forms and I am happy to discuss ideas with you.

What is a humanist?

Humanists support equality for all people. Humanists advocate for human rights, free speech, progressive policies, and democracy. People with a humanist worldview maintain religion is not a precondition of morality, and object to excessive religious entanglement with education and the government.

Why would i hire A HUMANIST officiant?

Humanist Officiants provide a service that does not include religion. If you would prefer a non-religious wedding, funeral or re-naming service that fits your needs, I would be happy to work with you to build the ceremony that your are looking for.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am Chris Kirby, a certified Wedding Officiant. I am licensed by the Registrar General of Ontario. I am a non-religious clergy person registered under Humanist Canada. I am authorized to provide legal marriage services in the Province of Ontario. I am trained in performing funerals and naming ceremonies through Humanist Canada.

I am a father and husband. I work in my community to improve the lives of childhood trauma survivors through the charity The Ironwood Project, which I created in 2018. 

We can work together to create your ceremony where the process can be as custom and hands on or hands off as you would like. If you would like to see sample ceremonies or find out a bit more, please check out my FAQ and Sample Ceremonies pages.
